One-on-One Object Study Appointment

Students can request a one-on-one object study appointment. Object study occurs in either LeBaron 2078 or Morrill Hall 0017. Objects must be observed in the museum spaces. Students can use the collection for learning about topics such as:

  • Silhouette or prints
  • Design archival research
  • Material innovations
  • Surface embellishments
  • Fit techniques

You can learn about what is in the collection in our online catalog. If you are unsure of what you want to study, you can book an appointment and we can discuss possibilities with you.

To request an appointment, fill out this form (put “not applicable” or “N/A” when necessary):

  • Provide a list of the next 14 business days M-F 10am-5pm that you are available to visit the collection. Provide it in a list format following the template below.
    Monday, Oct 5 10-11am; 3-5pm
    Tuesday, Oct 6 12-3pm; 4-5pm
  • During the appointment, I understand the following:
    • I must wear white gloves at all times.
    • After use, I will put the white gloves in the “dirty” glove bin.
    • I cannot view more than 2 objects at one time.
    • I cannot have any food or drink in the collection storage space.
    • I must be respectful of others in the collection area by not talking on the phone or talking loudly to others in the space.
    • I must clear my space after use.
    • I must respect that others in the space are working and may not be able to answer my questions at that time.

If during the academic semester you do not receive a response within 5 business days, please contact Dr. Kelly Reddy-Best at klrb@iastate.edu.
