ISU FDM alum, Todd Snyder, has been highly successful throughout his career in the fashion industry. In past years, he has been nominated for Fashion’s top award – Best menswear designer – by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America). Each year, two $5000 scholarships are sponsored by Todd Snyder in memory of Professors Ruth Glock and academic advisor, Ann Thye, who passed away in 2011 and 2024, respectively. Both Ruth and Ann played a significant role in supporting Todd Snyder’s career and in fostering strong relationships and internship opportunities with his company. The scholarship is awarded annually to one selected merchandising and one design student who complete a summer internship with the Todd Snyder team at the company’s New York City studio. The interns will also be working with other ISU AMD alums, Cole Kersey, Blaze Best, and Ricardo Field who each interned in the past with Todd and are now designers for his label. Clearly, this internship can be a great springboard to a career position.

In 2015, Todd signed an agreement with American Eagle for $11 million, and the good news is that American Eagle also supports this as a full-time paid internship on site in New York City. In addition to the $5,000 scholarship, interns receive a $2,500 gross signing bonus to assist with relocation expenses. They also earn a base salary of $20.00 per hour, based on a standard 40-hour workweek. Todd Snyder has a beautiful flagship store in the Flat Iron District of NYC, a second summer shop in The Hamptons, and a 3rd shop in NYC called Todd Snyder at The Liquor Store. What an exciting time to be a part of the Todd Snyder team! Learn more about the brand at www.toddsnyder.com.
