The Digital Apparel and Textiles Studio (DATS Lab) is a cutting-edge facility equipped with state-of-the-art technology for textile and apparel design. Featuring an 8-color Mimaki printer for photorealistic textile printing, a high-speed Melco EMT16X embroidery machine, a precision Trotec Speedy 400 Laser Cutter, an HP DesignJet Z3200 44-in PostScript Photo Printer, and more, the lab empowers students and faculty to bring their creative visions to life. From digitally printed fabrics to intricate embroidery and laser-cut designs, DATS Lab offers a world of possibilities for innovation and has assisted in the creation of many award-winning undergraduate and graduate projects.
Services & Pricing
All services in the DATS Lab are offered to students and faculty in the AESHM department, all colleges at ISU, and the public for personal and class projects.
Equipment & Technology
The Digital Apparel and Textiles Studio houses equipment to create both printed yardage and engineered prints for apparel from computer illustrations and photographic images. Users can incorporate digitally printed textiles into their projects and take advantage of this exciting technology.
Online Submissions & Appointments
Feel free to drop by the DATS Lab during the designated hours. However, we highly
recommend you make an appointment online. Appointments are accepted through email.

Monday: 10 am – 7 pm
