Merchandising Scholarship
Our Merchandising Scholarship is Live!
Since 2015, Apparel Merchandising and Design students have had a chance to compete for the endowed Lora and Russ Talbot ISU Fashion Show Merchandising Scholarship. The project is designed by a local or national apparel company with the intent of solving a specific merchandising concern within the firm. The winner of this award will also receive a $2,500 scholarship.
This year, The Fashion Show is honored to partner with The Slow Era for the Lora and Russ Talbot ISU Fashion Show Merchandising Scholarship. Their team created and judged a case study project for Iowa State University students to research and complete. This year’s case study involved students providing suggestions on how to enhance The Slow Era’s visual merchandising layout to leverage strategic product placement and create an immersive, cohesive shopping experience, optimizing The Slow Era’s wall and floor space while maintaining store flow and brand aesthetic. Malena Magnolia, the founder of The Slow Era, was excited to get input from Iowa State students.
All submissions are due by Wednesday, April 9th, at 11:59 PM. Please contact thefashionshow@iastate.edu if you are interested in competing.
