Overall Experience

My overall experience in Florence was amazing. In just four weeks, I felt as if I was truly able to experience what life was life in Italy and want to go back! I can't imagine going to study anywhere else, it was incredible!

Learning experience

I learned how to navigate life in a different country, which I would say is the most important thing that I learned because it is such a valuable life skill. I have never lived in such a different culture for an extended period so getting to be there was amazing and so valuable.

Memorable experience

My most memorable experiences while studying abroad was getting to travel around to different places around Europe like Spain, France, and even Austria. It was amazing to have the opportunity to get to travel around to different counties and have so many amazing experiences like boat rides, and even a Sound of Music bus tour!

What did you not expect?

I was surprised by how important it was to study and learn about countries before visiting them because of how all their cultures were so different. I will take this lesson into my professional life as I will be sure to understand learn about different cultures.

What advice would you give?

I would say to just do it! Studying abroad was one of the best things that I have ever done! My biggest piece of advice would be to take advantage of every opportunity while you are over there, try the new foods, travel to unique places, and meet new people!

How has this experience impacted your life?

I felt like I learned a lot about myself studying abroad. I learned that I am capable to do and try new and different things. I learned how much I loved international travel and would love that to be incorporated into my future career. And I learned how to live in a completely different culture, which was my favorite part of the whole experience.

How did you learn about this experience?

I first learned about this opportunity Freshman year in AESHM 1110 and since then wanted to study abroad but not for a whole semester, so the four-week summer program was perfect for me.
