As the Sales and Event intern, I have had the opportunity to experience many facets of this in-depth industry. I am responsible for giving tours of the facility, placing all bar/beverage orders, creating social media marketing, staying up to date on all emails to ensure I am communicating efficiently with the clients, invoicing, etc.
The greatest accomplishment from my experience is each week when I was trusted with more and more responsibilities. I think this is an easy way to judge if you are doing a good job at your work- the more responsibilities that you have, means the more power and for an employer to trust you with that is very rewarding.
The greatest lessons learned from my time as an intern would be to adapt to different communication styles. I have learned that there are really so many moving parts in this industry and it is important to realize that and adapt to the different ways people communicate.
What advice would you give?
Seize absolutely every opportunity that you can because you can only truly learn from experience.
