Restaurant Supervisor: -Supervises Associates; completes restaurant operational needs by assigning employees and following up on work results. -Trains to, and maintains restaurant standards, policies and procedures. -Maintains open and current communication and concerns with management and other staff. -Opens and closes restaurant or lounge as directed by management. -Monitors line, kitchen, and seating area; assist with guest needs and requests as needed. -Ensures integrity of physical inventory and par levels. -Manage product stocking and inventory.
The greatest accomplishment from my internship was receiving a review that referred to me as the manager. It felt so good to have that title even if it wasn't real. I, a 21 year old, was mature enough and responsible enough for the customer to believe in me and think of me as management. It meant so much to me. A close second is the daily interaction with the J-1 Employees from all over the world. I've learned a lot from them!
What advice would you give?
Follow my three lessons and learn some of your own along the way. Kindness is important to the success of every team so face every conflict with kindness and humility.
