My primary responsibilities include: - Organizing and creating an inventory for Neat merchandise - Creating new hire welcome boxes - Shipping items to customers and company events - Helping to develop a process for merchandise requests - Assisting with placing orders with vendors - Answering questions about current inventory and delivery of shipped items - Assisting the marketing department with planning the 2023 US Sales Kickoff
I was in another internship before this one, from May to the beginning of July. My greatest accomplishment at that job was creating a locally-sourced menu for the biggest event of the year! I have only worked at my current internship for two weeks, so I have not had much time to do a ton. But I have been doing well in adjusting to an entirely new industry, and I am currently drafting a process for merchandise orders, and that is fun.
During my first internship experience, I learned that it is important to have an open mind and to ask lots of questions. It is not embarrassing to ask questions, that is the point of being in an internship! In my current internship, I have learned that I really enjoy task-focused work, rather than people-focused. I think I enjoy the back office aspect of companies, and seeing my work affect others.
What advice would you give?
You don't need to decide on what you want as soon as you get to college! Try out new classes, jobs, or internships, so you can get a feel for what you are looking for in a career. Keep an open mind and stay positive!
