Mia Gruber

Responsibilities

While working at the Joliet Slammers baseball stadium, my primary responsibilities include overseeing all rentals of the stadium and being the on-site contact for clients. I also contract with clients looking to rent out the stadium for things like tournaments, individual games, sponsor rentals, and pop-up shops. During game days, I work with the promotional team on the field as well.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment during my time at my internship was successfully planning and executing special events at the stadium. I also was able to get experience in a professional sports environment which could be really beneficial to my career.

Learning experience

I learned to be more confident stepping outside of my comfort zone and taking on more responsibilities. I also learned that being friendly and having great customer service skills can go a long way.

What advice would you give?

Although the process of finding an internship can be difficult and stressful, in the end it is really rewarding and allows you to get real experience in your field as well as network with others in the industry as well.
