Responsibilities

This events internship includes assisting the events team with planning and executing many facets of the ACM Awards and Party for a Cause Events. You will be exposed to production, signage, food and beverage, master schedule, merchandise, sponsor fulfillment, office set up, credentials, red carpet, talent, volunteers, fan activations, and ancillary events at MGM Grand Garden arena and other venues.

Accomplishments

So far I have had many career changing experiences, but the most significant one was working as a Talent Coordinator and Production Assistant for a benefit concert we put on. Once the show concluded, we received many comments about the smoothness and seamlessness of our show. While it was not all my doing, I feel very proud to have been apart of it.

What advice would you give?

Take every chance you come upon. Freshman year, just after switching into events, I found out about the volunteer program for the ACM Awards. I decided to apply and ended up working at the awards show that year. Without that experience, I am not sure I could have been given the opportunity to intern for them. Too many people get caught up in being comfortable, but at this stage in our lives, comfortability is a barrier to growth. In order to mature into a young professional and improve personally, you need to make yourself uncomfortable; put yourself out there, step out of your comfort zone.
