Accomplishments

This summer, Amdur held the 60th annual Gold Coast art fair. During this, I participated in an event with 300+ art vendors from around the US. This was the largest event I have ever been a part of, and I got to see everything that goes into putting on an event this big. I work with the operations side of the event, so I got to learn so much about laying out a show and its importance for its flow. After everything was set up for the show, it was so rewarding to be able to see the artist and the public enjoying the art fest.

Learning experience

During this internship, I learned so many things about the event industry and myself. While working with the artist and vendors, you always have to be patient and understanding of what they are saying; they might not always be right, but it's important to get to an understanding of the situation so the event goes smoothly.

What advice would you give?

When starting an internship, you might not be doing exactly what you see yourself doing in the future, but any experience will help you in the long run. I didn't know much about art fests when starting, but I grew to love the events each weekend and putting them together.
