Responsibilities
As the event intern, I directly work with the event coordinator to make sure events are planned, organized, and handled after. This means I am in charge of emailing, setting up the event space, doing small tasks, and being able to understand our wine and vineyard to have our event run smoothly. I oversee a lot of things, but the main objective is to work together with coworkers to delegate certain tasks to have successful events . This job tests my creative and management skills all at once. It is fun and still forces me to manage my time better. I have completed multiple tasks, from arranging tables for events, decorating our venue space, creating wedding booklets, contacting clients and vendors, to organizing anything that will elevate peoples experience with us.
Accomplishments
As of now, my greatest accomplishment have been a combination of running my own events and seeing my boss and others employees build their confidence in my independence. As an event intern, the beginning was learning the ropes and following along. Now I find that I have a lot more leadership activities and I am taking on bigger responsibilities.
Learning experience
Being able to find the balance in trusting myself and my decisions, and letting others lead for a certain task. It is important to take the lead in some areas but not all. Collaboration is a huge part of success in any work setting.
What advice would you give?
Get out there and gain experience. However, don't be stressed if you don't have any yet. About a month in and Prairie Moon had already made me feel comparable and heard.
