Setting up and tearing down the meeting room, creating meeting room and wedding contracts, creating wedding blocks, managing RFPS, assisting management with Accounts Receivable.
My greatest accomplishment from my experience is having guests and my managers tell me I've been a great help to them this summer during stressful times. Another great accomplishment I've gained from my experience is the acknowledgement and appreciation I've received for my hard work during this internship.
I've learned not to be afraid to point out issues I see and offer possible resolutions; management is usually very respectable and receptive to new ideas about making the work place better. I've also learned to accept new challenges and do my best while setting down boundaries.
What advice would you give?
Don't be afraid to ask for new roles or challenges during your internship, and especially don't be afraid to ask for help. Tell your boundaries to your managers in the beginning, and don't be afraid to tell them when you're not comfortable with something. We might be interns, but we still deserve to put ourselves first sometimes!
