Responsibilities

My responsibilities include helping make name badges, creating tabletops for tradeshows, helping create mobile apps for events, checking in attendees for registration, sending out know before you gos before events, be present in every team call take notes, complete RFPs. There is so many other tasks I do as well that go into each and every event planned.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment in my internship is getting the opportunity to travel to San Francisco and Chicago to help execute two events as well as help manage all the attendees and customers that come to the event. Being able to travel to these events has shown me real-world experiences and has let me network and meet many great leaders and role models.

Learning experience

My greatest lessons I learned from my experiences is that the industry is very detail oriented. The smallest details make the big picture. Every detail is important to the event. Another lesson I learned is that you must be flexible and willing to go outside of your comfort zone to get tasks done. You also have to be willing to make mistakes and learn from them to become better.

What advice would you give?

My advice for future students is to not be afraid to apply to any internships you see. Also to not be afraid to make mistakes, and it’s okay if you take a stab at something and end of needing help. It’s how you learn and grow. In my opinion throwing yourself into something is the best way to learn. For example, I started my remote internship May 22nd and was planning to travel to San Francisco June 13th for my first event. To be honest I was terrified it was my first time flying alone and I was going to go do something I’ve never done before with people I have only met over a teams call. I learned so many things along the way when I just threw myself into everything. I made mistakes but I learned from those mistakes which helped me grow and become a better intern.
