Gaining the freedom to be trusted to do assignments on my own without complete supervision. It was exciting and empowering to know that I could be trusted to plan and execute events on my own without having to hold someone’s hand through the process. Another great accomplishment of mine is taking part in the leasing team, helping our team bring our fall pre-lease to over 90% through the use of marketing, communication, and sales.
Have trust in your supervisors. They will teach you everything you need to know, and you need to trust the process of learning. If you have questions, don’t be afraid to ask them!
What advice would you give?
Advice that I have for future Event Management students is to be confident. Know that if you are with the right company, they are going to help you succeed. You are working for them to help them, and they are there to teach you because at the end of the day they want the best for you and their company!
