Responsibilities

I sat in on meetings with the design team, merchandising team, and production team. I also arranged files and helped sort archived garments. I completed tasks like sketching, pulling garments, and finding inspirational images. In addition to that, I worked with a PLM system, where I reconstructed color palettes for the company, input tech sketches, and fabric details. I also help with tech packs and BOM charts.

Accomplishments

My greatest accomplishment is being able to stay focused and dedicated to this company. Given the circumstance that I've had over the past couple of months, I wasn't sure that I'd have this opportunity. Once I was given the position, I took it and ran with it by giving more than 100% on every task given. I showed determination to learn and to progress and to grow and it's been paying off.

Learning experience

My greatest lesson learned is that there's no such thing as a "dumb question". Employers understand that you might not know everything because they've been in your position before. In my opinion, asking questions benefits you a lot, it helps you learn things you didn't know and it also shows the employer that you're dedicated to learning.

What advice would you give?

Never give up, especially during times like these. Never stop trying and never stop believing. Your determination and passion will not go to waste, someone will recognize it. The quote, "never give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about", is a quote that's on constant repeat in my head that keeps me going.
