Decadence Showroom is smaller showroom in terms of employment. With this my internship was very hands on. On a day to day basis my responsibilities were cold calling to find new accounts, contacting already current accounts answering any questions on their orders, writing orders in the program JOOR and organizing the lines within the showroom based off line sheet orders. Some responsibilities that weren't day to day were helping with on road appointments as well as appointments in the showroom by showing the current season for specific lines and writing orders, a long with attending Stylemax tradeshow and MAGIC tradeshow.
My greatest accomplishment during this experience was getting the opportunity to travel to the MAGIC tradeshow in Las Vegas with Decadence Showroom. During MAGIC I got the opportunity to be the Midwest sales representative for Dex Clothing which is one of the six lines Decadence Showroom represents.
What advice would you give?
Research the company you want to intern for. If you are interested in wholesale make sure you understand what the wholesale side of the industry is. Keep building those connections throughout your internship
