How to restrict student access to a finished course

By default, students and instructors both have ongoing access to course accounts when the semester is over but for students, the course tile moves off of their Dashboard at the end of the term. Students can still access past courses by clicking on Courses > All Courses. If an instructor wishes to prevent students from accessing the Canvas account, the instructor must go to Settings > Course details tab > checkmark the box for ‘Restrict students from viewing course after end date’ > scroll down and click the red ‘Update Course Details’ tab.
